New endodontic motor provides continuous working length measurement, supports safer instrumentation and works with all file systems
FORT MILL, S.C., April X, 2026 — Komet USA announced the launch of EnDrive, a wireless endodontic motor designed to maintain consistent working length, reduce instrumentation risk and support predictable root canal treatment.
Many endodontic motors require separate devices, provide inconsistent working length measurements, or limit file choice, creating inefficiencies, and increasing clinical risk. EnDrive was developed to address these challenges by supporting the way dentists already practice while making root canal treatment more predictable.
“EnDrive represents our commitment to simplifying complex endodontic procedures while maintaining the highest standards of care,” said Dr. Satya Nadimpalli, Komet USA Endodontic Product Manager. “By focusing on real-world clinical pain points, we’ve created a solution that integrates seamlessly into everyday practice.”
EnDrive provides continuous working length measurement during instrumentation with an integrated apex locator, helping dentists maintain control throughout canal preparation without switching between devices. Visual indicators and apex-based auto functions support precision near the apex, while an electrically insulated contra-angle helps reduce false readings. This continuous measurement supports consistent canal preparation and helps reduce the risk of over- or under-instrumentation.
To help reduce the risk of file separation, EnDrive features intelligent torque control with real-time visual feedback, along with auto-stop and auto-reverse functions that activate before critical stress levels are reached. These features help dentists recognize and manage torsional stress, supporting controlled, predictable shaping across a range of canal anatomies.
EnDrive supports all rotary and reciprocating file systems, with preset torque and speed values stored directly in the motor. Built-in file libraries and customizable sequences allow dentists to continue using their preferred files, simplify setup, and adapt their approach based on each case.
The motor is designed to minimize workflow interruptions with a cordless, battery-powered main unit and handpiece, along with an intuitive touchscreen interface that simplifies setup and operation.
By providing continuous working length measurement with real-time feedback, supporting safer instrumentation and working with nearly all file systems, EnDrive supports efficient root canal treatment with consistent control throughout the procedure.
